WooCommerce Sync Issues - "Coming Soon"

Issue: If your store is hidden behind a "Coming Soon" landing page in WooCommerce, the synchronization between Shelf Planner and your store might not work correctly. This is because Shelf Planner requires access to your storeโ€™s API, which may be blocked by the "Coming Soon" page restriction.

Solution: To ensure proper synchronization, follow these steps:

Step 1: Check if Your Store is in "Coming Soon" Mode

  1. Log in to your WordPress Admin Panel.
  2. Navigate to WooCommerce > Settings.
  3. Click on the Advanced tab.
  4. Look for an option indicating that your store is hidden behind a "Coming Soon" page.

Step 2: Temporarily Disable "Coming Soon" Mode

  1. If your store is behind a "Coming Soon" page, disable it temporarily.
  2. Depending on the plugin or theme you are using, this option may be found under Appearance > Customize or within a dedicated plugin's settings.
  3. Save your changes and verify that your store is now publicly accessible.

Step 3: Reattempt Synchronization

  1. Go to your Shelf Planner Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Store Connection.
  3. Click Sync Now to manually trigger a synchronization.
  4. Check if your store data updates correctly.

Step 4: Re-enable "Coming Soon" Mode (Optional)

If you need to keep your store hidden until launch, you can re-enable "Coming Soon" mode after ensuring the synchronization has completed. However, keep in mind that any future syncs may be blocked again while this mode is active.

Alternative Solutions:

  • Instead of a full "Coming Soon" restriction, consider using password protection that allows API access.
  • Check with your "Coming Soon" plugin documentation to see if it allows API calls while the site remains hidden
